Kaiden's driving is up for the task and they make good time. This is helped by the fact, not that Kaiden seems to notice it, that something or someone has made their journey easier. Ice bridges cross crevasses and at least one of the ice mountains seems to have been partially melted to allow easier travel. Everyone else however does seem to notice. Not only is this freeze over not natural, at least in this area, its been reshaped.
Finally the area widens out into a small opening, almost like a creator at the centre of the mountains. A deep blue ice cyrstal sits in the centre of the area, with what appears to be a large rock at is base. On the other side of the area is what appears to be a Shugenja, a figure in robes of light and dark blue, sitting and meditating. As soon as you approach his eyes snap open and he attempts to shouts something. The wind, distance and sound of the crafts all but makes it inaudible, but his expression shows concern.
As that happens, Nanashi and Shinwa spot something more. In the blue ice cyrstal, is a body. A female Shugenja, trapped. She is barely visible in the ice, but she is there.
A second shout issued and this one is audible above the wind, "Stop Minna-sama. You are in grave danger."

Meanwhile up in orbit something becomes worryingly clear to Kiru. Their is no other ships.
That significantly limits what those upon the ground could be. Perhaps they are Unicorn from the ship...but surely they would be highly tainted if they had survived since the attack of the Seokga. And what could they have possibly eatten.
Maybe they are Dragon Monks. It would not be the first time the Dragon has appeared out of no where. In fact they are notorious for doing so. But normally its only one. Why would two come to this world, and if one was injured why would they both still be here.
The alternative was Shugenja of quite some power. While its true that some Shugenja move directly from planet to planet,'Opening the Way' just was easier to cast from space, although Kiru didn't know the reasons why.

The more likely—and dangerous—possibility in M'thack-kir's mind is that the life signs are of Jigoku's servants, or worse, realm walkers like the Tsuno, but there is nothing he can do up here to assist Shinwa and the others. For now, they are on their own.

Nanashi pulls Kiba up short. He swings off the bike and immediately draws down with both his pistols on the hooded figure. Nanashi's voice comes out of the collar of his helmet. The voice sounds almost like his if slightly modulated.
"Don't try anything. No sudden moves. What are you doing here?"

Looking unthreatened by the pistols but glad that that the Dragon had stopped and hoping the others would too, the figure replied, "Waiting. For you I hope. We can use the Seokga of Water's arrogance to our advantage, for as long as we don't do too much, as long as we only guide you here and now, it all remains in balance.
We cannot and will not allow the coflict between Oracles to reach the level it did in the 1100s. Ningen-do is not our battleground. But we won't ignore the Seokga violating the truce and balance in Ningen-do."
He pauses and said, "Be careful Mirumoto-san. They do not have your best interest at heart."
Shinwa is observes the immediate moment with a calm assessment. The sharp stop sends him swaying forward, but he ignores that. Once the vehicle stops he gets up and stands from his seat on the Camel and bows deeply to the shugenja. He does not approach or get out.
"If I am wrong or too bold, please correct me. From your words and this place, I think you yourself might be an Oracle." He looks at the world around him. "Perhaps the Oracle of Water. You have smoothed a path and are waiting, so I presume that you wish to speak with us. Greetings. I am Shinwa. But I cannot venture any guess as who your guest, the maiden in the ice, might be. Nor the danger you warn of."

The male looks as the Cammel comes to a stop, a slight smile at Shinwa, but only a very slight one, "The maiden and the danger are one and the same. As for who she is..." He looks at the figure in ice sadly, "She is a women that potentially give you all the answers you seek, without the risk of giving the Seokga or the Dark Oracles further room to move. Although to be honest, she is one of the few people whose motives and desires are beyond my ken, or at least they were." There was nothing but pity in his voice as he looks to the figure in the ice.
"The Seokga's earthly body is gone, yet its soul is angry and still possess the cruelty it once had. Such a being does not take such a failure well, and Jigoku will be punishing it. Asahina Hana is the outlet for its wrath. This world, an example of the power of a Seokga, and this ice crystal prison, the price of failure. If you get to close, you will be caught up in her power...or rather the visions she is projecting. To free her, to kill her, to end the pain no matter how." His eyes closed and he adds, "And I imagine that unless something happens she will still be here, still screaming in one hundred years time." He shook his head, and turned to the party once more.
"Please, drop your weapons...this is a world where kami hide, and while the power of the Seokga has tired them for now, the Kansen, both air and water can sense your desire for a violent solution...and will try to encourage it. We have little time before you must leave."
Just as the Oracle falls silent, the same words and now images that Nanashi heard were not becoming audible to everyone.
"He lies" "She is innocent" "No one deserves the suffering he is doing to her." "You are safe here." "You can trust us." "He is the enemy, he seeks your death." "Kill him," "Attack him" "Pull the trigger" "Crush him, make him bleed" "She will be grateful." "Who heard of a dangerous Asahina." "Remember your brother." "She will reward you." "Since when is the bad guy the prisoner. Since when does the sensei Monologue" "Remember the Kuni." "She will help you save the child" "Thats not how the story goes." "He suffers endlessly because of this man and his master." "Kill him." "Destroy him." "We will help." "We always help."
"Please, Minna-sama, listen. Lower your weapons... trust me. The water will come soon, and then you will be bombarded with visions as well as whispers. And after them come the monsters below the Ice. You need to think with a clear mind. Reject them, deny their words and it will buy you time. Buy us time." Their was a hint of desperation in his voice, "I cannot just tell you what you need, not without giving the Dark Oracles more room to counter you, and you need time to deal with the riddles I leave you with. Hint corresponds with hint, answer with answer, action with action."
