"We are in agreement then," Tai-Wen says, nodding as her eyes flick over the projection. She reaches over and collects a trio of the datasticks, tucking them into her apron. "Some of us can multitask, so we'll be reachable by coms while flying and reviewing this data. Unfortunately, it does not seem that there will be much to be done until we get there. So, to save time, we should set out immediately. We'll be in touch."
Tai-Wen and Ketaan push off the wall and make for the door, stopping only at Ariel's words.
"Unless, of course, there is anything else?"

"No Moto-san, I cannot think of anything to add that would make the situation more clear, or is that relevant." He bows to all those gathered, "I have a feeling War is coming....perhaps we will be the spark. Perhaps not. But let us make sure that the world below us is not the spark. Be it Otosan Uchi, Shiro Moto, Kyuden Asako or Kyuden Diagotsu.... For almost 300 years, that world has been ours and ours alone. Even before that we fought and died over that land. It would be a failure of Duty and of Control for us to let it be attacked."
For a brief moment the room seems a little colder and he said, "We would not bow to Jigoku itself...I refuse to believe some pathetic alien Gaijin could best the Samurai. I trust you will not prove me wrong." Then it was over and he turned towards the Window.

Naosuko kept her thoughts to herself. She hoped that she was misunderstanding the implication of this Spider magistrate's statement. This investigation would show the truth of the matter, not what was politically convenient for the Spider clan. If their samurai had fallen or become corrupted, that weapon must be destroyed and never rebuilt. If they had been corrupted by the Jigoku aliens, her clan would know the full truth, even if this Emerald Magistrate ordered otherwise. "Welp," Naosuko says, pushing off the table, "We're burning starlight, samurai-samas. Hate to break up the party, but I have a few things to take care of before we depart." She stretches out a bit, then slumps her shoulders, pushing the light from her eyes and looking down and away. Peasant Disguise. One raise for Peasant, one raise for no clan. TN 25: 6d10o10k4 30 "Sore-ja." She says quietly, departing from the room.

"That was a bit dramatic", Kokishin thought to himself. Then, suddenly remembering something important, he exclaims, "Ah, Shimazu-sama, will we need travel documents? Security will be heightened in the area and we may be barred from entry if we can't prove we're supposed to be there."

"Not to worry, Asako-san," Ketaan says over his shoulder. "I'm sure that arrangements can be made. And if not, well, that's all the more fun, ne?" He departs with a wink and flourish.
"In all seriousness though," Tai-Wen taps the pocket containing the datasticks. "Documents will speed our way. If you feel that you are capable of authorizing them, Shimazu-sama, without drawing unwanted attention, send them along."
"Please," Ariel adds as he escorts his wife out into the general room. He gives one last bow to the company, and departs.

Hirosue pulls out a datapad, his face showing no sign of emotion, and quickly types across the screen. Finally a simple swipe and a press, and everyones datapads activated, receiving an email. Contained withing was their travel papers arriving, giving them permission to travel specifically to the Unsanctioned system of 'Diagotsu 5768b' clearly where the satellite was last seen, as well as further beyond the Empire's borders and a general permit to travel around the Empire.
"In the unlikely, but possible event your investigation leads you to a world within the Empire that has increased security, be it a restricted clan world or one restricted on order of the Emperor, you will have to contact me."

Kokishin stands and bows, promoting Chik'kan to bounce up as well. "Thank you, Shimazu-sama. Well Daigotsu-sama, it appears we are the only ones left. Shall we head out?"

Enshiro tucks the datapad snugly into one of his pockets. He gives a final bow to Hirosue before beginning his departure.
To the Phoenix, he replies neutrally, "Indeed. Do you have a way to reach the system, or will I be hosting you upon my ship?" He asks while still exiting, though not too fast, hinting that they should talk and walk. As the Naosuko said, starlight is burning.

Taking the cue, Kokishin walks with Enshiro. "I would be honored if Chik'kan and I would be your guests, if we are not too much of a burden."

Naosuko wandered the station for a few minutes, taking a circuitous route towards the market district of the station. Eventually, she ducked into a public restroom to clean up a bit. She washed the grease from her hands and face and straightening her clothing to better emphasize the faded Tortoise mon and wakizashi.
She pulled out the datastick and eyed it for a moment. She resisted the urge to look at its contents right at this moment, there was something that she had to do first. Naosuko hid the item on her person and returned to the corridor, making her way to one of the few shops that sold the item that she needed.
An Ichicom Mk IV datapad, product of the Badger Clan after their recent issues with the Scorpion virus. An ugly and blunt device, made for function over form, it was everything that a security conscious samurai could want. Capable of operating independently from the network while keeping most of the functionality of a typical datapad. Plus, as a product of a smaller entity there was a smaller chance of pre-installed intrusions. Only problem was the price, triple the usual cost of a mass produced Mantis or Crane datapad.
It was the markup that was a suprise to the Tortoise samurai. Grudgingly, Naosuko parts with the 6 bu in the typical "gift giving" ritual that is involved in buying such items. Of course she wasn't buying anything, she was getting a gift from the shopkeeper and leaving behind some useless shiny disks.
That done, she returned to her ship with her purchase. She didn't have much time before the others would probably be raring to go, but she didn't even have the coordinates yet, something quite important for interstellar travel. She disabled the network functionality on the datapad before turning it on, the logo of Ichirocom appearing briefly before booting to the setup screen. She gave it nonsense registration information, getting through the setup as fast as she could. Just needed those coordinates.
Finally it finished customizing the screen layout and she inserted the datastick. Ignoring the schematic data, she pulled up the coordinates for Daigotsu 5768b. Quite a ways to go then...

((OOC: Its ok. This group is actually remarkably ship heavy. The Inquisitor plot only has the 1 ship and the Dragon plot has 2. This plot has almost twice the number of ships of the other two combined. )) The system labeled Daigotsu 5768b was actually further then the Spider strictly speaking should be going into unsanctified space without Imperial Explorers and surveyors, but such laws enforcedment had almost always been on a case by case basis, given that it normally allowed the Great Clans to expand the Empire more quickly in the early days. And with the new threat of the Jigoku aliens and the Emperor's weakening of Sakoku restrictions the law had all but been forgotten. With the Crab rampaging all over the barely mapped routes at the edge of the Core, and the Spider and Lion searching for more worlds to subjugate, it was only due to the mercy of the Fortunes that no ship had been destroyed by gravity fluctuations yet, and that luck wasn't going to last forever. Still it was only about 4 hours travel in the coreward direction, rising above the galactic plane, but not as far above the disk as White Stags Renewal. While the datapad was silent about this, she has flown enough to know that had she put that stick into her ships computer it would have immediately started issuing warnings about the system. A Blue Hyper Giant was the central star, thus its light would at least 500,000 times brighter then the Jade Sun was, perhaps more and its solar winds would require the shields to remain up to prevent shorts and other such damage. Unsurprisingly, there was no habitable planets.

Tai-Wen just happens to be looking at the same data, lounging more on than in a folding chair by the docking bays. A long power cord snakes from her datapad to a wall port, charging her devices as she scans the information.
"Hrrm." She purses her lips and reaches out with a metallic-gloved hand to spin the tactical layout. "Ketaan!"
"Right here." His head pops up from the waiting area seats where he is lying in an undignified sprawl, drawing irritated looks from a few passing Badger control.
"Did you ever get the materials for the flare dampening we talked about?"
"Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmnope," He drawls, dropping his head back down beneath the seats and talking to the ceiling. "That tiny excuse for a shipyard on the satellite had the stuff on backorder. If the shipment arrived, it was after we got the call for it."
"Great. I'm going shopping," Tai-Wen rises from the seat, folding it up and leaning it against the back of the seats where Ketaan rests. "You coming with?"
"I don't think so," The reply floats back. "Someone's got to keep an eye on our dear navigator."
Tai-Wen turns to where Ariel is exercising his extraordinary power to sleep absolutely anywhere, in this case partially slumped up against the curved, reinforced glass looking out on the distant stars, and the much closer planets that make up the Rokugani home system. His face is smooth, free of worry as he lies backlit by the heavens with his glasses in the pocket of his jacket. She leans in for an affectionate peck on his forehead, which earns her a pleased but incoherent mumble, then straightens and makes for the general direction of the market.
"Grab something cold!" Ketaan's voice chases her, and she rolls her eyes, replacing the datastick in her apron.
Who knows if I'll even be able to find the necessary compounds in this tiny port? Well, barely enough time to look before we leave.

Naosuko gave a sigh of relief, the more the Spider had described this system the more it had sounded like White Stag's Renewal. That would have been quite the blow to the Empire to lose that storehouse of knowledge to the taint. Thankfully Daigotsu 5768b was similar, but not the same. She entered the coordinates and made a few calculations, massaging the travel time a bit to match what her companions would expect with the assistance of the Nōchirasu's flight computer. She also set it to start calculating a roll that would even out the exposure to Daigotsu 5768b's star and minimize heat and radiation related damage to the paint. Appearances are important after all, she thought. Massage flight time. Flying/Intelligence, 1 Raise TN 20.: 5d10o10k3 24All that work done, Naosuko pulled up her holocom. It was only now that she noticed the message from the Emerald Magistrate. She pulled the travel authorizations from the message and added it to her ships computer. The Tortoise samurai would need to abuse it some to hide their true intentions, but that would come later. <Papers received, updates may come through third party,> she replied, setting the message to be sent once they were in on their way. Now, to get in contact with the team. <Hot Tortoise Samurai in your area. Click [Here] to chat now, you're burning starlight!> she wrote with a bit of a wry grin. The link opened a slightly more encrypted chat channel, keeping their conversations off of the public network. Hopefully some of them would join, and let the others know to join too. She added the studious Asako, the mysterious Daigotsu and the Unicorn trio, all BCC'd and attempted to route it through a known source of spam advertisement. Send spam! Computing/Intelligence One raise TN 20: 5d10o10k3 20The message nearly went out to everyone on the station before an errant click caused an error message. Catching herself, Naosuko routed the message properly and sent it out. She joined the chat herself and waited. OOC: Used the wrong trait on my first Computing roll. Would have gotten a TN 20 if I had used awareness. Per emeralddragon, I can swap traits for that one roll.

(OOC: massively editing this post because I misunderstood the Kasuga's post. I'm keeping my 'during the ride' part though because I don't want to waste the roll) Kokishin receives an electronic mail from a 'badreputationtortoisedaimyoxxx' promising a good time nearby. Kokijin smiles. "Daigotsu-sama," I believe that our Tortoise companion is wishing to coordinate our flights. If it's alright with you, I'll talk to her and let you know the arrival plan." With obvious humor in his voice, he adds, "and if it's not her contacting us, there is at least the promise of a good time." ... Kokishin makes some small talk with Daigotsu Enshiro during the ride, but attends himself to studying the schematics, looking for the best way to board the station without triggering alarms or automatic defenses. Not being an engineer, the task is difficult, but Kokishin takes advantage of the fact that it takes a few hours to reach Daigotsu 5768b to patiently check the schematics with granularity. He takes only a small break to examine the weapons selection available on the ship, and equips a small sidearm made for personal defense. Chik'kan, meanwhile, sits impatiently on the floor, having been forbidden from exploring by Kokishin for fear of him finding something shiny, keeping it, and enraging their generous host. Spending a Void Point. 2/3 remaining. Engineering/Intelligence roll: 32 orokos.com/roll/523215
