Steve and I are Dr Who fans (particularly of Capaldi) and we have a one on one home game where he plays the Doctor and I'm the GM as well as the Companion.
It works rather well as a one in one, better with me as the Companion as we did one session the other way around and it didn't work as well. Particularly when the Doctor can choose to tell the Companion things or not.
So far we have run four adventures:
Introductory about ghosts, Published One about Daleks on a space station. Published Paris in the Spring. Custom one, this was my fave so far as it features Tesla and the Eiffel Tower. Space Trek. Custom one, a homage to Star Trek with a reality TV show and real aliens.
Anyone else tried it? I love how narrative the system is and how you can make it episodic like the show and still have an ongoing storyline.
I'll leave Steve to talk about his Doctor. My Companion, Samantha Ward, is fun though. She's a bit of a sci-fi and history nerd, wants to be a writer. She asks the Doctor to take her to Paris in the spring, he takes her in the spring of 1889. So the floaty polka dot dress, big hat and sunglasses aren't really appropriate!
