It sounds like, all joking aside, we may have a Serenity style ship configuration, at least if the GM is amenable. So I will steal this information from here: firefly.wikia.com/wiki/Firefly_Class / firefly.wikia.com/wiki/SerenityStandard model: Crew capacity of 15 in 8 cabins and 1 dorm and a passenger capacity of 36 in 6 staterooms and 12 berths. Serenity Model (more cargo capacity): Crew capacity of 5 in 5 cabins and a passenger capacity of 18 in 9 passenger dorms. The ship carries two shuttles, each with a passenger/crew capacity of 4. In addition, the ship can carry 1 land speeder with a passenger/crew capacity of 4 + cargo, and possibly 1-2 additional land speeders in its cargo compartment. If Bearon's ship is the main cruiser (upon which he'd obviously sleep), and Kiru and Shinwa have one of the shuttles, and Kasuga Naosuko has the other cruiser, if the rest had the land vehicles, that would work. It sounds like the main modifications we'd want, potentially, is that the shuttles have jump capacity also, but considering this is done by a person, the engines for such things don't have to be huge so there is no reason that the shuttles be that big. If more people want smaller space ships, an X configuration would allow for 4, but the main ship might then lose its capacity to go suborbital and land. Alternatively, the land vehicles could be 1-2 man short range orbital fliers, but that would make getting around on planets difficult. Just random thinking.

There's a difference between shuttle and freighter. The 5 point Rapid Response is Freighter, like the Serenity itself. A light cruiser is a good deal bigger than that. Attached are the images/plans of my ship, as currently approved.

Granted, Emerald might decide to change up what sizes/classes of ships he's allowing at each level of those advantages, so that might change.

The main things we need to know is:
Passenger capacity Attached shuttle/fighter capacity Whether or not the ship can land on a planet

If we can't land on a planet we can always jump.

If we can't land on a planet we can always jump. Yeah.... Maybe some of us.

At the very least, having docking ports for any FTL shuttles/fighters that anyone might have is the easiest. Meeting in space would require it.

OK, time to get all Navy terminology, as it seems thats largely unavoidable. Rank 5 Rapid Response is a freighter, like your YT-1300, Firefly-class and whatever the heck the Bebop was. Now for those of you who can get super nerdy like me, you will point out that the Firefly is about half again bigger then the size of the YT-1300 and thus able to handle more crew and cargo. This is true...however this is where a little variation comes into play. Some ships are larger, slower, and carry more cargo and people...others are faster, smaller, and carry less, and are much easier to hide in. Thats a natural variation and in the context of this game is largely fine. YT-1300 specs are standard in the Empire for freighter, (essentially a 40m Diameter ship) while your Firefly class (Which is 80m long and 51m wide) is more cargo based and essentially no firepower, relying on sticking to safe worlds. Now at this point traditional navies have a slow increase in size. Corvette, Frigates, Destroyer, then Cruiser. For reasons simply described as "Space is Big" this doesn't tend to happen in Scifi, and when it does the jump is quite large. (Star Wars few Corvettes are all larger then 150m, which on earth pushes Cruiser size) Following in this tradition, I kept only 4 different class sizes of ship buyable. A Light Cruiser should be around 300-400m in length in this context. Its not a Katana Class or Tetsubo Class, which I contextually put around the size of a Star Destroyer (1-2km in length) or the Galaxies only Atakebune Class, which is essentially a baby Super Star Destroyer (Only 3km, as opposed to your standard 5-15km+) Given the rarity of such vessels (Each great Clan only has a single Katana Class per family, except the Lion which each have 2) we aren't quite star wars level YET.

Given the confusion...EmeraldDragon...what would /your/ preferred ship configurations be, and we'll see if we can arrange points to get there?
I fear I only contribute to the occasional procurement of spare parts.

This allows a few freighters to be parked beside your light cruiser and a few fighters to be inside, and a freighter to carry a fighter in a pinch of need be although more ofter fighters capible of bordering freighters (see Star Wars Rebel The Ghost and The Phantom) are essentially designed to link together as one.
