*pauses* Did I really forget to say that on my Character creation schools rules section.
*Goes and checks*
Wow, so I did.
Yes, thats completely acceptable. It would verge on illogical if it didn't.

Probably also is true for those with firearms instead of kyujutsu, for those tsuruchi marksmen out there.

Yes...
*Head-desks and looks embarrassed, editing the post again.*
Thank you Shinwa.

No worries, Emerald. Your intention was pretty clear. I work with a lot of lawyers in my day job and it leads me to be very technical in my reading. I apologise--it's kind of a disease.
Similarly technical point: Matsu Berserker tech 1 applies to all damage rolls a character makes, not just melee, yes? You can imagine where I'm going here: really honorable blaster shots from my Starfighter.

Reading the school, yes it does. It makes sense to as well, as the mechanic refers to your willingness to put everything into your attack, to not fear death and to give it all.

Quick noob question here before I submit my character. How is movement going to be handled in the game? I ask this because it is a big deal for the Iuchi thanks to their tech, and I've seen it being played in all sorts of different ways, from being completely ignored to using maps to determine where each character is and stuff.
Thanks in advance!

I tend to favor keeping it somewhat vague in my face to face games, and that will follow through here TO A DEGREE.
Part of the reason for this is Space is 3d....
However I will probably give a sort of "Scale of the battlefield" map at the start of combat, to give people an idea of distances.
As questions such as, "Am I in range to do this" work in face to face, but not so much in PbP.
*Mutters about crazy Iuchi Travelers teleporting 100 feet above the enemy so they can get bonus damage with their staff, and how they are so lucky they didn't kill themselves on fall damage*

Is this game going to use different time-blocks during the day running simultaneously or one time-block per day? Will it have one 'room' per plot per timeblock, or will it have multiple rooms per block per timeblock?
I ask because if it has multiple rooms, we might be able to help with setting up the ships or providing description text or something like that. We could have a room for each larger vessel, for example, that the owners of those vessels might want to create descriptions for.
Also, will these threads be moved into an OOC area?
Another general question, though I may have missed it, for effects that can trigger once per session, how will that be calculated per this game?
Just not sure how this is going to work mechanically.

At this stage, once per session means once per RL week I believe, but to be fair, Emerald himself has said that it's hard to predict/gauge the timing at this point, and it's not like he has a limited number of days like a winter court to run the event.

Ok, this stuff is based off a previous game I played in which had 1 post a day posting requirements and will be my middle ground till I actually see how people play this out.
Time will move forward in 2 blocks...Effectively "Day" and "Night" Although as its space such things are kinda complicated, this is basically the principal behind it. This should happen once a fortnight or once a week depending on how fast people post. Should it become clear that no one has anything more to do on that day, I will move it early of course.
The lack of time restrictions make this game easier to play and GM in and gives me freedom to move.
Once a session effects and XP effects will be handed out once a month or once a fortnight, once again, depending on how much people post. So essentially you should get once a session powers once a IC day and xp once an IC day.
Once a session powers MAY end up being moved to once every IC 2 days depending on how the flow of the game goes.
As for rooms, plots and timeslots.... its largely unenforceable to have one 1 thread per timeslot (as seen by the repeated and blatant violations of it in WC) and makes less sense then it did there...
While you could have two crews on the World of Dreams, unless I am specifically setting up party members to interact the chances of you going to the same place are tiny. We are talking planets here after all. The odds of you picking the same sake house are tiny. And while, lets say Kiru's ship is smaller, common sense will win the day here... sometimes you will seek solitude IC and if people are elsewhere on the ship it only makes sense for them to be in a different thread.
HOWEVER fate and destiny are always important in such a setting as well....so while I will totally allow two threads in the World of Dreams or the like at once, do actually feel free to go to the same Sake house if you are just going for a drink or information or something.
Finally as a Mod I can create threads, but not forums, and as such at least for the moment it will remain one big group. Quite likely this will change and OOC, the World of Dreams, and the Ships the parties are using will almost certainly get specific Subforums.
This will almost certainly happen should I get appropriate Subforums.

Vincent, you have admin rights so you should be able to create forums through the admin tab up top. It is pretty straightforward to do so. If you can't see "Admin" up there, let me or Steve know and we will get onto it.

Yeah, subforums for each ship, and then for each planet/orbital station/godforsaken asteroid people land on for any length of time would be awesome, I think.

Question about weapons and simple attacks:
So, most, if not all of us, are getting a daisho or a wakizachi. Do we get the accompanying firearms, or can we exchange them if we want (wakizachi->sidearm, katana->rifle)?
Secondary question, though I don't know who is impacted by this, just something I wondered about. Most bushi schools get simple attacks with samurai weapons, but some, e.g. Matsu Berserker, opened that up to all melee attacks. This used to be an upgrade, but now it's a clear downgrade. Can we assume 'all melee attacks as simple actions' to include 'as well as attacks with weapons with the samurai keyword' as these include non-melee options in this setting?

By the same ticket, does the Shinjo Bushi school, which gets Simple Attacks with a bow while Mounted, get Simple Attacks with the Artillery skill while Piloting?
