Tamiyo happily hands over her wakizachi, the only blade of her daisho she normally carries, before being led into the chambers of the Suzume daimyo. She looks around and can not help but notice the poor man has a bit of an obsession, from his white ready-for-sepukku garb, to the displays, maps and notes covering three of the four walls, it was all quite telling.
"Konichi-wa, Suzume-sama!" Bright smile. "Just some tea, if you would be so kind. My name is Ikoma Tamiyo..." She proceeds with introducing her companions and finishes with a gracious bow. "Now, we have come here to help. The plight of the honorable samurai of the Sparrow Clan has touched our hearts and especially the heart of the one who has gathered us. Many believe the threat has passed, and they would rather look away from reminders of what might have happened, or even, what might still happen according to some."
She looks around at the room once again.
"I believe this is far from being over for you as well, no? Now, if you would allow us, we also have a vested interest in getting to the bottom of this mystery. Between me and Biru-san we can reach a lot of people and the first step is raising awareness. Make people pay attention again, make them invested. Whatever the outcome, the public needs to hear it! So, we humbly ask for permission to go to the surface, make a documentary, make a video and start with gathering followers, send a call to arms to fix this and start investigating. What say you?"

Tea was brought forward as as well as a small amount of Rice, and the Sparrow Daimyo have a sight nod of thanks and a very slight smile of gratitude to the servant who brought it in to the room. As Taimyo spoke, he paid careful attention to her words, only looking away from her to pour the tea.
If he noticed Miumi's uncomfortable mood for being appart from her weapon, he gave no sign.
Finally he spoke, "Forgive me for saying so, but you recognise how unusual this all sounds? The Dragon Daimyo contacts me, to arrange a personal meeting with you all, with little over a days notice. However not a single one of you are Dragon."
Taking a sip of his tea, he continued,"Still, he is a Togashi... and considered to be blessed by far more of the mystery and obscure plans and motivations them most among his Clan."
His attention moves from the group as a whole to Taimyo, "What's more interesting is the lack of any Sparrow amount your number, given the nature of what you ask, and the presence of you Ikoma-san. I know little of you but what I do know is this is not your typical type of project. From a family known for its historians and scholars, I must admit a curiousity as to why a musician and singer of your reknown and prowess was chosen for this Duty."

Tamiyo laughs lightly, her usual high spirits brightening the room. "My Lord, you flatter me! Thank you for that!" She offers a little bow. "Yes, Togashi-ue's choice appears odd, does it not? But upon pondering it, it is also a wise choice not to include members of his Clan. You see, whatever the truth behind the events of the last couple of years might be, he needs those that hunt such a truth who are not predisposed to a certain belief, who are willing to go the distance to see what is there, whatever that might be." She is careful not to make it too explicit. Everyone knows what she is talking about anyway. "There is another reason of course, which incidentally is also why I am part of this group. The Ikoma are not just known for their expertise in history. We are also renowned storytellers, as I believe your Clan in general, and you in particular, are as well. And Togashi-ue wants this tale to be told, whether he is right or wrong. But, in order to do that, you need an audience and a gifted spokesperson." She smiles disarmingly. "Tadaa! That's where Asahina-san and myself come in. We both have an audience and our own particular ways of communicating with them. He is more into conveying complex information in a manner that is understandable to all, and me, well, I add feeling, passion and fire to the whole. My family's specialty as it were!" Her expression turns serious and earnest. "Is this project unusual? Yes! But then again, these are unusual times, and if there is one thing I want you to understand, it's that we are doing this not for the Dragon, or for own Clans, nor just to help the Sparrow. No, it's bigger than that, and this is just where it starts! This is for everyone, and we all need to know, beyond the shadow of doubt, whether we are safe or not. Please help us!" <ooc, 2 raises to be precise: Sincerity voided with raises: 10d10o10k5-10 24>

Biru smiles and bows his head, "It also is my first foray back into the public light after my accident Suzume-sama. I spent the inter lowering my staff requirements to myself and some video capable drones. And a large portion of my workshop aboard the Artisan's Den is dedicated to the processing of video and it allows me to produce near studio quality shows in very short order. Interviews that would normaly take years of wait time I can have live on several broadcasting sites usually within the hour. Between Ikoma-san and myself we reach nearly one hundred percent of the normally indifferent denizens of our star spanning Empire."
He sips a bit of tea, "The Sparrow know uniquelly how it is to serve, but all samurai should also serve. Myself wants to take this problem from something light years away to one at their feet. If the parent's don't listen then their children who when they reach their gempuku dedicate themselves not just to glory and honor within their clan but within their Empire."

Miumi, fiddling around with papers, looks up, takes a sip of tea, places it carefully back where she puts it, and nods at the words of the two media types. "Naturally," she adds, "Suzumu-dono would have the privilege to see all footage before any publication and halt any bits that he feels are not shareable with the Empire at large." She pauses briefly. "Nor will any publication be made before the veracity of the tale has been established. No one has any interest in being hasty; In this case, clearly thoroughness is preferable, ne?" Yozhiko heard them all. She gave an approving look to both the Ikoma and her husband, and she kept her eyes from rolling at the Dove.
That bookworm is becoming unbearable. Thank the kami, that sooner than later contracts will set things straight... Suzumu-dono would have the privilege to see only enough footage to make their story stick...
She remained silent, most of her attention in the data streams. This all was a facade after all.

Kailen has been silent until now, but so has Hajime. Someone has to speak for the Unicorn as well. She arms herself with the sweetest smile possible before adding. "And as far as history and precision goes, my clan has assigned Iuchi Hajime san, a most promising historian and seeker of the lost truth, for this task. Things are not going to be easy, but we are dedicated and eager to assist this world in any capacity. With your permission, of course."

The Sparrow Daimyo frowned, "I am inclined to bar you access, forms or not. The Documentary you are suggesting would be the story of the Sparrow's shame, of its failure, would it not? Few Daimyo would consider letting such a thing becoming a story. Bad enough that the histories know of ones failing, let alone to have it displayed on holovids for the entertainment of the Empire. However...the Dragon Daimyo wouldn't unite people of various Clans simply to shame the Sparrow. I know that, you know that....so I wonder what he is up to." Despite his words, its clear where the Sparrow Daimyo's thoughts are going. The events of the last Winter Court. "I find myself in a difficult place. The Sparrow are a Minor Clan. Even with the power of the Alliance, we would be fools to stand openly with the Dragon Daimyo, given the nature and direction of his seeming agenda. We know our history, and know that five times in history have Samurai attempted what he seems to be attempting. All have failed. The Sparrow have no interest in being part of the sixth attempt." For a long moment he pauses, looking over the group, as if waiting for them to leave, before he finally said, "And yet, you at least do believe what you are saying...not so much on the documentary, that was far to clear. But on the importance and dedication to your duty. I can appreciate that...you honor your Clan, whatever your actually intent Ikoma-san." His eyes look over the group, before settling on Asahina Yozhiko and then Iuchi Hajime, "If you truly believe that the fate of the Empire is on the line, if your duty is truly your intent, tell me. I have had Samurai and Shugenja go over the site of my failure more then once, examining every detail, trying to find what was left behind by whoever tainted the land. I have found nothing.... If the Empire is at stake, if there is a secret hidden on the world I am not meant to find, I will let you go to the surface....but make me believe it. I do not want to hear from a famous singer or a scientist when we speak of the curse of that darkest of spirit realms, and the chance to finally cleanse my shame. I want to hear from those who were taught to advise the Samurai of that which we cannot see. It would not be the first or the last time that Hantei's Garden has a message for someone in particular... but to find such a message is not the same as writing a song or filming for children, or making a documentary. Its a journey of the soul." ((OOC: Courtier/Awareness: 7d10o10k4 33 This was in reply to the Sincerity and Etiquette rolls))

Yozhiko took a sip from her cup of tea and studied the Sparrow daimyo. She then looked at the other people that have joined her in this trip with no return.
"Suzume-sama, before I answer allow me to express some thoughts. Asahina "Biru" Kagaku-sha and Ikoma Tamiyo are a mere scientist and a mere singer as much as I am a mere shugenja. All involved have a wide area expertise that the traditional way of describing people does little justice. Same applies to Shinjo Kailen, Iuchi Hajime and Heiwa Miumi. You have already mentioned the peculiar choice of membership the Dragon Clan Champion did and I do not wish to bore anyone by explaining why I know that these choices were fundamental in the success of this team's mission. By dismissing them, you do them a huge disfavour." She paused and sipped again from her tea cup.
"That said, you are the second Clan Champion this week who asks the impossible from me. You want me to convince you about something that I can not speak of. So respectfully I will decline. I decline not in an attempt to protect this august company from my words. You are known as a samurai who does not hide behind words. I decline not because I don't have a way to convince you or because I lack the knowledge. I decline because you can feel the truth in your guts and the colour of your obi talks about it. I decline because the data flows in the charts behind you speak for themselves and allow everyone in here know that you see things the way I do, even if you will not say that. That is another trait you share with the Dragon Clan Champion."
She paused to compose her thoughts.
"Our visit here is not about shaming your family name and clan. What my friends have already described is not a stand to gain popularity. Before you became a Clan Champion you were already a renown storyteller and all present here know that you have a story to tell. A story that has yet to be finished but that you know how it should had. That parch of land might hold nothing for us. Saying that those that studied it before us, members not just from your clan, but by all traditions and schools of thought that have anything to say on the matter, did not find something that was there, would be hubris. Yet I already know that most of them have already missed something. So I respectfully petition for access to the records of your Clan and more specifically to an ancient text that your family in cooperation with the Kitsune family of the Mantis has guarded for centuries. That text is called the Story of Shinsei and with your permission I need to study it."

Suzume Haurki drinks his tea, "I suppose the story would become relevant right now...of course how accurate it is, is subject to some debate. For while the work of two clans whose knowledge of the past, of stories and of Genealogy is well respected, the 'Story of Shinsei' is only as accurate as we could make it. To many gaps, sadly, many we cannot fill." A slight smile graces his lips, "Of course, if you are expecting a prophecy I am sorry to disappoint you.. The few who have dug around deep enough to find its existence often do, although you maybe the exception. Not our field of study I am afraid, but in a way this will be far more useful, if you can get the Fox's half.
It would not do for us to keep it all in one place...it would make things far to easy for those lacking in honor."
The Daimyo waved over a guard, and whispered something into his ear, before the guard nodded, and moved to leave the room.
Refilling everyones tea, he spoke again, "The history says that when Shinsei was leaving the Empire, he was asked often for any final bit of wisdom, and each time he offered none. Finally an old women asked him if he had any further questions, and he told her something. Whatever he told her led her to finish her journey to enlightenment, for she lived for centuries according to the stories, before finally turning into a Tortoise to keep her silence. Certain things need to be known by someone, but kept secret till the Empire is ready for them. A time will come when the knowledge may save us all, yet till that moment, it is dangerous to reveal. And some, very select secrets, must be forgotten after they have been used, so that they may one day be used again."
The guard brings forth a scroll, carrying with the care one would give to a document dating back to the Hantei era, even wearing a pair of gloves, "This is the key....the Fox have the lock. Neither of us will part with our half, for to do so will violate the treaty. Yet we do have digital copies...they have their own security and for the sake of your hardware, I would recommend any system you plug this device into isn't valuable."
Clearing the food aside, the scroll is unrolled, revealing a list of names...and beside it, a list of stories. Most of the stories are barely known tales, either ancient or obscure if not both. The stories in turn seem to have nothing to do with the names. A Crab story links to a Kakita, a Dragon story to a Lion, a story of the Burning sands for a Mantis. Many of the names are not samurai in origin, however a few stand out as people you have likely heard in history.
"As for the visit to the surface. How much time do you need?"
((OOC: I will allow Lore: (insert any clan here) Lore: Storytelling or Lore: Theology. For a roll to recognize where you know a particular name. The type of roll will determine what you get.))

"History is not my field of expertise, so I leave these documents to those more suited for such a task. I do extend my deepest gratitude for the trust you show us."
She solemnly bows, quite deeply.
"As for how long we need on the surface, I believe a day, two at the most, would be quite sufficient!"

Suzume Haurki nods, and picking up a data pad, makes a few adjustments, "There will be no extension for this. Your request has asked much of the Sparrow, and despite your intentions, our duty is clear. Mankind is not meant to walk on that world, for we are unworthy of its touch. But you will have a day and a half to make your documentary. Do not make me regret my decision, Heiwa-san, for I am entrusting your fellow Samurai to you. What they do will be held against the Dove."
Applying his Chop to the digital document, he continued, "You will have at least two Sparrow with you at all times. Security has already been informed that you will be proceeding to the planetary surface." Finishing his tea he bowed once more, "May you find what you seek. I hope your actions mean our children will not experience the Interesting Times that we have."

Yozhiko for a time was preoccupied with the ancient text shown to her. Tamiyo's exchange with the Sparrow Champion make her snap out of it. "Thank you, Suzume-sama. I hope I am allowed some time with either the original or its digital versions. As for the missing half I already intended to visit your spiritual advisor, who as I understand is a member of the Moshi. It seems I have one more subject to talk about with her." With that she bowed waiting to be excused, enthusiastic on the prospect of spending some me time with the ancient scroll. [OOC: Unless he does not forbid it in order to study the text, I will use some spells to buff myself and then roll (given my low honor and the resulting discomfort Hantei's Garden will cause me, studying is a far better use of my time that going to the cleansed area.
