Biru smiles, "My dear if the emergency was immediate we would not have been gathered. My producer would led us in tea ceremonies to remind us we were all together."

Kailen stands still for the duration of the tea ceremony while her mind travels to various places. She even attempts to assess the samurai she just met. She has heard a lot of things from Hajime about Yozhiko and, of course, Tamiyo and can't help but wonder how the Iuchi and the Ikoma feel about this unexpected meeting and each other. In the end, she concludes that whatever the case, Lady Benten will touch their hearts one way or another. The only thing that is left to be determined is the way it will happen and whether they will love each other or someone else.
As soon as the ceremony is over, Kailen breaks the silence with a grin. "Well, that was truly something we all needed. May we work in unison in the name of the Empire and our glorious Emperor."

As soon as the ceremony is over, Kailen breaks the silence with a grin. "Well, that was truly something we all needed. May we work in unison in the name of the Empire and our glorious Emperor." "Quite so, Shinjo-san! You can always count on a Lion's dedication to honor and duty to the Emerald Throne!" Tamiyo turns her bright smile to the Champion of the Dragon. "Now, how can we assist Togashi-dono in these troubled times?"

Miumi looks on attentively as Tamiyo broaches the subject they are here to discuss, idly adjusting the balance of her glasses on her nose. She is a bit fidgety still, something that seemed to appear at some point during the tea ceremony.

As Tamiyo speaks again, Hajime gets that same feeling from the last time they met that everything she says can and will be used against her, so she just shuts her mouth and reminds herself repeatedly that they are there for a reason and she needs to focus on the mission!
Naturally, that doesn't stop her from glancing at the Ikoma every now and then, cursing herself for doing each and every time!

When the Ceremony is over, and the Dragon Clan Champion places down the last tool, he suddenly looks a little older, "Despite the Asahina's dangerous choice of language, she is right. While the aim of the Kharmic Wheel is to slowly but surely improve the lives and souls of all beings within the Emerald Empire, the fact remains the "Day of Thunder" is something older then us, dating back to the days before the fall of the kami or even the rise of man. A truly enlightened soul is one with the world, but he does not control it...in fact he understands that true control and understanding are beyond him, and he must seek to know and understand more every day. He becomes one with creation, but does not know all of it."
He falls silent for a minute, then said, "The Day of Thunder is canceled...it is Blasphemy to say the Emperor is wrong.. And yet, history shows that our more recent Emperors are more human then ever. It has been almost two thousand years since divine Iweko the first sat on the Steel throne, and we cannot ignore the possibility that as the Emperor has become more mortal, the messages Tengoku sends are more cryptic. The Dragon tried to gain further insight last Winter Court, yet the Otomo have made every effort to cut us off in this endeavor. We have no doubt they will continue to do so. So...the Dragon cannot appear to act, yet it and the Clans who believe the same as we do, must act.
Thus, why you are here. Your superiors all believe as I do, that we need to....clarify....the words of the Emperor. And once we have done so, we need to spread the word to the Empire, preferably in a way that will not undermine Imperial Authority."
"The task I ask of you is enormous...but it must be done."

Tamiyo nods gravely, somehow managing to make the little frown look cute.
"Of course, there is always need for clarification and insight. The wisdom of the Son of Heaven is not always clear for his subjects to understand." A smile appears. "Fortunately appealing to the people of the Empire in a manner they can clearly relate to is the specialty of some present in this very room!"
Her smile brightening she cocks her head and holds up her fingers in her patented 'v-for-victory' symbol.
"Yatta!" There's a short pause. "So, errr, where should we start?" She has some clear ideas, but investigative competence is so very much not part of her public persona.

[OOC: Willpowe roll to resist Contrary. I don't think the TN would be that low even with the monk pretty much saying the same thing.] Yozhiko suppressed a ironic laugh and tried this time to pick her words more carefully. [OOC: Awarensee/Etiquette roll for on. I miscalculated the cumulative buffs from active spell and ward. It should be 1k1+8, not 1k1+6, so final result is 31, soz.] "I guess we can start by gathering and compiling a comprehensive guide to the various prophecies. We might even stumble on something previous generations have overlooked. There is Uikku, the dooms and various other ancient texts that deal with this subject."

Miumi procures a tablet and stylus from somewhere on her person and sits herself ready to take notes. She appears quite content to not say anything on the matter for now, eyes darting back and forth between the rest of the group.

Something the previous generations have overlooked. Borderline herecy. Kailen smiles. She likes that cheeky Asahina and can't help but wonder whether she is that forward in other, more personal moments...
"Well, we can always check to see what we can find in other planetary systems, preferably the ones connected to Heavens. I wouldn't really like to get involved with more shady and jealous worlds, unless it becomes absolutely necessary. We have an advantage that our ancestors didn't. We can use it. I am sure that the Dragon clan wouldn't mind, no?" She looks at the elder clan champion waiting for a confirmation.

Biru tilts his head, "There is also the fact that there is no outward threat affecting all of our people this time. In the past it was usually the lying realms that if they won all Samurai were under threat of extermination. But with us so spread out what could really threaten us enough to move the heavens to reinvigorate a bloodline directly?"

((OOC: I am going to say the Contray TN is 25 in this scene. I get the feeling, especially given your characters training and the fact you as well think the TN should be high, that while she knows the Monk agrees with her, that he continues to do this mental gymnastics to avoid saying, "We are trying to prove the Emperor wrong," makes her contrary habits stronger. She wants him to admit what we are all here to do, yes?))
The Monk is hesitant for a moment, but decides to answer Kagaku-sha first, "On the third day of Thunder we first truly encountered the demons that empower the Dark Oracles. We have known they existed for a while...Tengoku and the Jealous Realm are in balance, but until that day we did not know what it was they were. It is easy to think of that and say that these creatures must be the worst threat the Jealous Realm has to offer. And yet....we know of greater powers in Tengoku then the Dragons." The Monk is silent for a moment, "To speculate on the opposite to a Fortune would have once been blasphemy...and yet the Spider many centuries ago gave us five. You ask what darkness awaits us, what could possibly exist in the Jealous Realm that could threaten the Empire of Emerald Stars....
I answer that we don't want to know. I answer that it is this fear that drives that leads to the Emperors lack of clarity. I answer that Ten beings fell from Tengoku....and I pray to each of those ten beings that they do not have an equal dwelling in the darkness."
He pours tea for his guests, recognizing that their are more words to be said yet, and leaving his greatest concern sink in. Taking a sip of his tea he continues, "Even if my prayers are answered, the implications of what reports were given in the aftermath of the final battle, that the Emperor said canceled the Dark of Thunder concern me. Reports suggest they were trying to Taint a star. To say their is no precedent or understanding of what would happen should one of the stars become tainted, given their connection to the Jade Sun, is an understatement."
"As for what I want you to do, you are correct, the Prophecies are required, as is any guidance of the worlds connected to Tengoku. Visiting Hantei Prime would be an especially good idea, given its closest known connection, although you would need Sparrow permission."
"Their are also number of possible prophecy locations that others do not consider. The Spider for example have a world under their control that is supposedly connected to no spirit realms... yet has life upon it. A world that is a giant maze of cliffs, ravines and mountains. A world supposedly created by an insane Tensai, and yet my own research has dug up no trace of an Earth Tensai, sane or otherwise, twisting a world into the impossible. It occurs to me that Bayushi may have had more then one Labyrinth, and there is few better ways to hide Scorpion control over something, then give it to someone else." He shrugged and sipped his tea, "I have no proof however. Such worlds like that however should be in your star charts if you know how to look."
He pauses and said, "What I do have is this," He places a small datapad on the table, and turns it one, letting 5 faces appear on the screen, "These five people were the first or the latter hundreds to claim to be the heir of Shinsei. I do not believe any of them actually are....but these three," He points, "Have strong connections to the Scorpion," a small adjustment, "This one is of the Asahina family, who were the guardians of the Heir of Shinsei till the Third day of Thunder. Perhaps they resumed that role after the war of 14 Thunders. Finally this one," the image changes again, very different this time. Where as the other men had been Rokugani, this one clearly was not.
"This man comes from Neo Versailles, the Thrane homeworld. He claims to be the heir of Mekhem. An insane idea, to hide Shinsei's Heir in one of the most distant gaijin lands of the Empire, to hide him amoung people that the Rokugani had spent almost 100 years defending. To hide him against the people the Rokugani considered the least threatening. But perhaps that would be why it would work so well."
The Daimyo paused, "I want you to find these men, as well as seeking out the Prophesies, and see what you can find out from them. While I don't believe any of them are the heir, they may just lead you to them."

Biru rubs at his chin, "We have the researcher capability and our presence in most of the Empire worlds could be explained by Tomiya-san and myself coming to perform some manner of meet and greet or autograph signing. The Gaijin world will be a bit more tricky." He looks over at Yozh, "Would your wards be able to detect if a gaijin had the blessings of our kami?"

[OOC: Your assessment is correct and seriously I've missed these large bodies of text of your (that's a joke, don't get pissed off or something). Anyways back to the contrary, we both know that I can roll against TN 25 all day and fail, so for the rest of the conversation I hope that we can agree that I auto fail miserably and try to contain the damage done through Etiquette. Is that ok? Awareness/Etiquette roll in order to be polite. Intelligence/Lore: Shadowlands (from Sage) roll for knowledge of Oni no Yakamo.] "There are ways to discern this kind of things." She simply replied to her husbands question. "Worst things than a gaijin descendants of Sensei have existed, do I need to remind anyone how the Hantei dynasty was deposed? Do I need to remind anyone that there was and as far as we can know it might still be somewhere within the Jealous Realm a creature that bore the name of the mortal that ascended to the Celestial Heavens to become Lord Sun only to be deposed by the Jade Sun? Deposing is not that bad if viewed though these lenses, ne? Millennia ago that would have been called hubris. We all know that's ancient history. As much as we hate to admit it, even Tengoku changes and Ningen-do is bound to follow." Yozhiko asked and pointedly stared to all present. She made a small pause letting them process her words. Then she turned to the Dragon Clan champion. "Togashi-sama, can we expect any support from you in obtaining permissions in travelling in otherwise restricted worlds? Shinjo-san posed a question that you ignored. You can surely understand that there are limits that our clan affiliations will not allow us to cross."

"I have experience with such bureaucracy," Miumi says, not looking up from her cup of tea, which she is in the midst of adjusting in some manner. "My kinsmen travel a lot, and we receive visitors as well from all over, and given that knowledge, while we of course may sometimes be forced to resort to the use of to a certain extent contrived reasons for our being in localities where people such as ourselves might not be the natural occurence of samurai on important duties, I suspect one can expect the prospect that I would for the most part possess the ability to maneuver us into a favourable position regarding obtaining entry to the vast majority of systems."
She makes a few taps on her tablet and adjusts her glasses, before lifting her cup and taking a small sip, placing it back on the table. After a brief look up at everyone, she resumes her finicky adjustments of the cup as if the convoluted statement was perfectly clear.
