Enshiro turns to the underling on the Communications Station. "Broadcast Kokishin-san's code." The hum of energy coursing into the Navigation system was clearly audible. It would hopefully be enough to avoid at least some of the next volley from the Fighters. ((Overcharging Navigation 4 points, +20 TN to be hit)) "Radiant Cannons," the Spider says, voice raised so as to be clearly heard above the overcharge, "Reprioritize the Fighters after the Corvette has been dealt with. Missiles, avoid firing upon the Fighters until we are clear from the blast radii. Now, FIRE!" He roars with authority, slamming a fist down on a control panel in punctuation to his command. Tai-Wen spirals to avoid one of the fighter's intercept paths, and locks her eyes on what she assumes to be the communications array bristling from the side of the enemy Corvette. "Come on you slagskulls. If you're talking, then let me chat right back." Like all Koshuud weapons, the pod that bursts forth from the Ballista is not quite off-the-shelf standard. In this case, the sides of the pod rapidly eject to reveal a blister of micro-rockets that fire on their own, secondary ignition filling the vacuum with hundreds of inconsiderately small munitions. In theory, small enough that they will completely bypass any sort of Point-Defense systems that the opponents have equipped. Whatever the result, the hive of stinging darts screech forth in the silence of space, blossoming to life in an almost artistic display of violence against the enemy's shielding. Physical DDOS! Attack 29, Called shot to ComsIf Hit, Damage 48Otherwise, Splash Damage 24Attack Stance, 4 Overchargers to Navi, TN 40, 3 turns to Overheat ((OOC: Uncertain if GM wishes to post at op of round, will wait.))

The code that Kokishin sent clearly begins to scramble the fighters, confirming the theory that they weren't 100% independent. It wasn't a complete shutdown, either due to coding language incompatibility, or good firewalls, but they were beginning to slip out of formation and lag before moving. Before they were potentially a threat. Now, they were easy targets. Tai-Wen's shot would have missed under normal situations, but due to the fear clearly running through the crew of the corvette, the coms array is damaged, sending multiple fighters out of control. Its not down completely yet, as a few manage to....not fly randomly into space....but its impossible to tell if they are able to fire still. (OOC: Luck roll: 1d10 5) Finally, the Obsidian Dawn opens up. The fighters are moving far to slow to act as a shield and the retreating corvette is clearly outmatched now that its drones are discovered and their coms are damaged. A message begins to appear on the coms channel as weapons launch, clearly from the alien vessel. ((OOC: Diagotsu-sama, I will give you the option to disable the missiles before impact should you choose to do so, given the flickering coms light and my own inactivity before I put this on Hiatus. Of course its possible the corvette will die anyway, or is at no risk of death, as I have yet to look at its health at the time of posting, just because I know given what has happened thus far, especially that last attack missing entirely, the Zenijin would likely try to....renegotiate their original terms.))

Tai-Wen's eyes flick between the viewports and the tactical displays, grinning a predator's victory rictus upon seeing the sudden erratic displacement as the drones' communication begins to fail. Their spiraling movements no longer coordinated, they would be easy prey for overwhelming force. There is more to it than just ruining perfectly salvagable tech though... She thumbs on her coms, and passes along her analysis to her squad. "Angels, autos crippled. Vanguard, reprioritize to assist Sky Eyes. Hamstring the slaghead." The squad responds immediately, the other fighters peeling off to fly together as their carefully practiced coordination creates an almost artistic display in the twinkling dark. "Roger." The ships move as one, splitting off in a symmetry that almost mirrors the computed perfection of the drones movements before interference, a blossoming maneuver that takes them out of the Corvette's immediate range. When they dive back, the silent glittering plasma that arcs forth from their cannons seek to slice the tendons of their foe, leaving them helpless before the ragtag fleet. Ketaan, dropping to Ariel's Initiative for coordinated strike, Light Radiant Called Shot to the Engines: Attack 55, Damage 25((Full Attack Stance, 4 Overcharges to Navigation. The Spider raises a derisive eyebrow at the flickering notification.
Unfortunately, they are more useful alive.
"Disable the missiles." Enshiro commands. Watching the missiles' path, an underling's eagerness quickly turns to confusion as they scramble to avert the destruction of the enemy.
"Open coms." The Spider waits expectantly as the channel opens, standing calmly.

The Nōchirasu halts it's stuttering light show, but continues to crowd the fighter nearest to the Obsidian Truth, attempting to guide it away from the cruiser. No communication comes from the ship, but it's driver remains wary of the possible double cross.
((OOC: Still Defense, still guard action on the Obsidian Truth))

The coms flick on as the corvette takes a pounding from the Obsidian Dawn, leading to the image of the Zenijin to shake as his ship trembles and the shield fails. His Chitin is now a dark grey as opposed to black and while its central eye is locked on the coms screen, its other two eyes are flicking left and right rapidly, "Ahhhh, Samurai-Sama. Forgive the interruption and clear breach in traditional organization. I know that the Tortoise are supposed to handle affairs outside the Empire. I however needed to make sure that you were aware of my plans to....renegotiate our ongoing relationship before...."
At that moment the Unicorn's attacks hit and any trace of false refinery leaves the Zenijin. A string of alien curses leave the captain, before he manages in highly accented Rokugani "Stop shooting us for the love of Zor'lok. We'll talk. We make deal, both profit, no one need die. Yes?" A shout over his shoulder occurs and both the Unicorn fighters and the Tortoise vessel get hails as well, as the Alien tries anything he can to stop being fired upon.
While the Daigotsu focuses on the alien, the rest of the party can clearly see that the Unicorn's last shot had all but crippled the engines. The Engines of splutter and die, all glow and colour leaving them and at least one appears to be leaking some sort of fluid into space.

"First, you will power down your drones and weapons, or you will be reduced to ashes. Then, I will consider speaking further with you."
Enshiro remained resolute, maintaining his calm posture, anticipating surrender.

((OOC: Initiative Order Suspended unless someone attacks or makes a hostile action.)) The Alien issues a set of clicks and hisses, as he gives orders to his crew. A set comes back in return and the alien gnashes his teeth together before replying, "We will do what we can Samurai-Sama, but you understand that those hits on the communications array have made it somewhat complicated to reach all the Drones. We will do what we can." The four drones that were still in under their control flew back to the Corvette. The remaining 4, that were flying off in random directions remained on course. Meanwhile the Corvette's weapons powered down as its clear the power was transfered to the shields. ((OOC:Brief Overcharge 2 to the shields Recontrol Drones: 4d10o10k3 15))

The Unicorn fighters, spiraling back from their aggressive strike, fall into easy formation in a spearhead in what approximates "above" the Obsidian Truth.
"Pretty sexy shooting, if I do say so myself."
"They were aimbots, Vanguard. You were shooting skeet"
"Hey hey Daybreak, far more than skeet. Wild fowl at least."
"Easy, dearheart. I'd like to hear what they have to say."
"Was that to her or me?"
"Yes."
"Pfeh. You're lucky you're cute. Alright Angels, breathe the horses."
"Roger."
Sleek, hidden panels in the metal hide of the Baurunghars slide noiselessly aside, exposing certain select areas of the ships' systems to hard vacuum. From the sheer amount of thermal that vents, it seems likely that were the scene to take place in any place with an atmosphere, the gaseous discharge would be accompanied with an ominous industrial hiss. As it is, the silent flare of heat ripples the void, seeming almost a green smoke as it is briefly given form passing through the viridian shields that guard the fighters' vitals. The steam collects and sparkles cosmic dust as it dissipates, the trio bringing to mind strange inhuman beings sharing a hookah in some distant, sandy place. While their ears are trained to the coms, plasma lances remain trained on the fighters, both those brought to heel and those still drifting.

As the drone returns to its ship, the dekotora takes its place. It remains completely dark except for the light of the engines idling their pale blue light and the weak green light of Daigotsu 5768b reflecting off of the chrome trim in odd angles as the ship rotates.
There is no direct communication with the aliens aside from the acknowledgement that the ship is receiving the transmission.

Enshiro stares back at the alien for an uncomfortable moment, until finally he breaks the silence.
"I believe you were about to beg us for surrender. Giving us that information we wanted would probably be a good start. Continue." he finishes with a wave of a permissive hand. The Spider was certainly curious about how the alien would reply to such demands, given it's disadvantaged negotiating position.

"Sama, Sama, you wound me Sama," the Zenijin's tone is clearly influenced by its dealings with the Tortoise, if not outright stolen. Unfortunately for it, its eyes and chitin give away its nervousness and its accent and gestures are off. It's not human, its blatantly not human, and its attempts to be one are clearly out of practice.
Still, the potential is there. A Zenijin with actual acting talent could one day be a major pain to anyone attempting 'fair trade.'
"Now the thing is, you're a Spider, and from what I have heard from our friendly Tortoise clan representatives, you understand the real nature of the universe far better then any other clan. No silly little religious blindness, or ridiculous concept of honor, or being blinded by the idea of being 'unclean.'You appreciate cold hard facts. And the fact is we both know that you wait till I tell you what I know, and THEN reduce by ship to pieces anyway. And I think I am just a little to far from my fellow....Zenijin I believe is the word the Tortoise use....to risk just floating in space in an escape pod after I tell you everything I want to know."
His skin tone is returning as he said, "However, presuming you listen to my....reasonable re-evalution of my previous offer, I can offer your clan a good word or two to my fellow Znbwr 'Esl"

"This Zenijin claims to know a lot about the empire considering all it knows is what it heard from the Tortoise. It's also a coward," Kokishin says to Enshiro. He then turns his attention to the Zenijin. "It is a shame that concepts of honor are ridiculous to you, because someone with a sense of honor would keep and enforce an agreement made to let you go in exchange for information, if such an agreement was made. If you'd like to try again, using your brain this time so as not to belittle the people who have your life in their hands, perhaps we can negotiate something." (I'm going to roll Courtier/Manipulation, but if you think a different roll would be more appropriate, I will re-roll. Rolled a 23: orokos.com/roll/592970
