The Asako's mouth thins, and then she said, "Hida-san...you just arrived in a system that is kept under constant supervision of the Inquisition due to the risks to Tengoku that exist in this system, via the Prayer "Open the Way" which you cannot cast, in a ship that began falling apart the instant it arrived due to battle damage and thus was held together through unknown means. Given your continued survival and the lack of Taint upon you, I presume this means a Shugenja sacrificed their life to get you here. So, forgive me Hida-san, but I at least need to make sure that the Empire is not under threat more then is currently suspected and that you were not followed."
"After that, it will be more reasonable for you to shower, contact your clan, and give the Empire a more detailed account of what has happened."

Kiru stands to the side, taking in the various smells that are emanating through his home. There is more fear coming off in waves from the Asako than he expects, but he doesn't comment—it is best to wait and observe this interaction.
It isn't me who has them on edge. Rare.

Shinwa exchanges a glance with Kiru, but keeps his head down and attempts to remain unobtrusive. His own expression is very neutral, and he seems calm enough. As though an invasion of alien creatures of jigoku is not something that would rattle him at all.

Nanashi crosses his arms in front of him.. A soft sound can be heard by Shinwa and Kiru coming from Nanashis ears. Rythmic but not loud enough to block his hearing. Just enough to keep the, what he considers a boring, conversation interesting.

"Apologies, Inquistor-Sama," said Tetsuko, the words were more automatic than sincere. "Your guess is correct though, the shugenja Hiruma Kakumau gave his life so that we could flee the battle." She paused, her eyes glazing over, remembering. "And he saved my life by activating my juryoku boots, which is why I was spared the fate of my comrades." She gave a sigh. "As for the threat to the Empire, we had to flee so the threat is still out there. It is of Jigoku, of the like I saw at Isawa's Shadow."

Kiru's ear twitches at the mention of Isawa's Shadow, and his gaze is now locked firmly on the Hida.
Where? What? If Iron-child tells the truth, we are in danger even here...
The Nezumi quietly spins about and leaves the crowded lounge area, making for his private quarters.
Once he gets there, he glances over his shoulder to ensure nobody has followed him, before entering and closing the door behind him.
"Rik," he whispers, "stay hidden with me."
There is a darting movement from above, and seconds later M'thack-kir leaves his quarters, absently stroking part of the Phoenix obi that he wears as a neck scarf.

At the words Isawa's Shadow , Shinwa looks up, but his eyes are fixed on some unknown distance and a crease of concentration has formed between his eyebrows as he thinks. But though he listens he knows his place and says nothing.

"What does Isawa's Shadow have to do with anything?" Asks Nanashi. His On still unmoving.

Post by Doji Kaiden on Jun 6, 2017 2:09:38 GMT 10
The lone Doji walks along the promenade, calling out to random passers by, Sometimes targeting one in particular and shoving a leaflet into their hands. "You Sir! Have you had the pleasure of experiencing Crane Cruises? Book now and get two hundred and fifty koku on-board credit!" The passers by for the most part barely acknowledged the Crane, a small number wondering what he was doing here, but most quickly putting him out of their mind. The Inquisitors had already seen space...and would do so again. The moon was their escape, not some silly Crane Voyage. However after a while, his persistence paid off, and he drew the attention of a Loremaster. Both interested in the trip, and somewhat confused by the man's presence here, he approached and bowed, "Konichiwa Doji-San, I am Asako Bingwen." A small smile graced his lips, "And you have picked a very strange world to try and sell trips to space upon, if I may say so. The Asako Loremasters are often the Phoenix's chosen representatives in court, and the Inquisitors and Healers also have many reasons to travel the stars. May I inquire to your choice?" Kaiden Bows extremely deeply to the inquisitive Asako. "Greetings oh great Asako-Sama! To answer your question, surely those that work the hardest deserve a vacation the most?! Have you ever seen the wonders of Fortunes Blessing? There are beaches with sand as white as the purest star, and water as clear at the void itself! Surely he perfect place to rest and recuperate."

The Asako bows, quickly, a clear dismissal, and gestures to one of the Shiba to escort you, "You shall have time to freshen up, but don't dally to long. When you are ready, Asako Honoka-san will be ready to hear your story. She is normally found in the Shadow of Fukurokujin library. Shiba Dong-Geun-san will escort you there." Turning to the rest of the crew, she bows, "Thank you for bringing us this information. May the Seven Fortunes bless the rest of your day."
Activating her commlink, she begins to order the Asako inquisitor fleet into readiness, both to intercept other damaged craft or anything else that may enter the system. Its not a high alert, the Inquisitors are confident that they can handle whats coming, but they are preparing for a force of unknown size and origin entering the system.
Dong-Geun stepped forward and bowed, "Ohayō gozaimasu Minna-sama," he looks over the crew of the ship, before his eyes settle on the Nanashi, and he said, "May I inquire to your business on world so I can help you get where you need to go, Dragon-san."
The Asako gave a slight smile, "Very true Doji-san. And I am sure that a visit to Fortune's Blessing or even the Golden Mirror would be an amazing trip. I have heard such wonderful things about those places." He takes one of the broacher and flicks through it, although it's clear he is barely paying it any mind, "It is easy to forget the beauty of the world, with such dark recent events. Even with the beautiful Oyo's Last Rest below us, a symbol of what we strive to protect, its easy to loose focus of the good in the world. I am blessed that history tends to be far better in this regard then the now, their is as many beautiful times of peace and tales of love as their are stories of war and horror."
She looks back to the Doji, "Still, Doji-san, why are you here? Is their anything the Asako can help you with? Or are you truly just a traveling Crane, seeking to bring other Samurai the same wonders you have seen?"

Kiru steps forward to command Dong-Geun's attention. "Shiba-Shiba, Nanashi is crew. Unless Nanashi has other plans, the whole crew will go to meet with Asako-Asako."
Evidently, M'thack-kir is not content with the Phoenix trying to decide who is and isn't part of his crew.
"What is Nanashi's decision?" Kiru finishes, turning to look the Dragon in the eye with curiosity.

Nanashi pauses his music and gives the Phoenix an appraising look. He dosnt look over at Kiru when he steps forward but hears him and feels slightly honored.
Nanashi points to his captain with his thumb. "What he said."
Nanashi keeps staring at the Phoenix. A bored On but with a subtle tone of
Do we have an issue?

The Shiba paused for a second, processing the fact that a Dragon was taking orders from a Nezumi, before bowing, his On carved of stone, "Forgive the misunderstanding Nezumi-san." There is a brief pause before he continues on, "If you all would like to meet with Asako Honoka-san, please, follow me."
As he walks them out of the ship he asked, "Nezumi-san, did you have an appointment to see Asako-san? If thats the case, given these events have and will continue to delayed you, I can send someone to inform her of the delays while we stop at a hotel briefly."

As they go to leave, Kiru whispers something in the Nezumi tongue that only a nearby, completely invisible Kakashi understands: "Put the ship on lockdown. Nobody is to access it without any of us three captains."
Shiba Itsuki joins them from the bridge as they disembark The Warren, taking the time to bow low to the higher-ranked Shiba bushi.
"Shiba-Shiba is the host. We are merely guests," M'thack-kir replies. "Kiru will trust the Burnt Crane Tribe."

Shinwa silently watches the interchanges with a faint hint of amusement. He bows as the Shiba orders them out.
"Shiba-sama, please. A moment." he says. Upon receiving the nod, he quickly swings by his cabin, emerging with a simple electronic reader which he holds up to inspection before sliding it into a pocket of his trenchcoat. "Please forgive me. It has been some time since we passed a base with a decent library."
With that he falls into step with the Dragon, the two Shiba, the Hida, and the Nezumi.
And he wonders, for perhaps not the first time, if there was a fortune out there who was laughing at them.
