((OOC: I figured, given the time it has been since you found some of this all out, I would start this thread with a reminder of all your leads. Its up to you to decide where this meeting happens, and what leads to follow of course.))
Over the past 24 hours, the party has investigated a theft, dissected a satellite, and 'interrogated' an alien, and through the course of have found the following:
a) Someone has built a series of satellites to intercept and alter transmissions that were happening, or exiting or entering the system. It contained parts from the Sassathif (specifically a power supply and a Metal case likely sourced from a Void aligned planet), as well as Rokugani components. The converters, though custom made, also looked Rokugani in nature, and the computer was coded in a Rokugani cypher.
b) While the Power supply is fairly common among the Sassathif, and the Rokugani parts are reasonably common in the Empire, the converters, based on the type of metal and one almost invisible makers mark that the device creators forgot to erase, were almost certainly made on the World of Dreams.
c) Something, likely connected to the Space station's theft, was leaking Obsidanite, a substance that was accidentally made by the Spider and all supposed to be in the hands of the Jade Order, as its destruction is considered a Blasphemy against The Obsidian Moon. The party is tracing it to the edge of the solar system, seeing if they can track the space station's jump point. (Not yet resolved)
d) They discovered a Zenijin pirate ship while doing so, and after a short fight, reveals some information, This includes something called the 'Path of the Dark Lotus,' Asako Kokishin knows some of the history behind that term.
e) Likewise we have direct confirmation of Sassathif involvement, as well as a thus far unseen hologram of the Sassathif involved.
f) Finally we have another connection back to the World of Dreams, this time via the credits required to pay the pirate to ambush the party.
With all this information, the question is....what to do next?

(In case it is ambiguous, Emerald meant to tag this thread “Emerald Magistrates”, not inquisitor, as that is the other party’s identifier. While I now have Mod status, I cannot edit anything Emerald posts, so cant update for clarity. This thread has been posted in the Daigotsu’s ship forum, so perhaps it’s worthwhile posting in here as though all members of the party are currently docked to this cruiser and arriving in the captain’s personal receiving room to debrief and decide on the next course of action or destination?)

At this exact point in time, I believe our wisest course of action is to continue following the Obsidanite trail. If that were to run out without finding our target, however, we should see what world(s) controlled by the Sassithif are nearest to our location at the end of the trail. It is highly suspect that the Sassathif are either partnering with or being used by a Rokugani organization, as I'm sure they wouldn't have come up with the name "Dark Lotus" by themselves. On that subject, I have heard the term "Dark Lotus" before. I won't bore you with the history, but suffice to say it's been the banner of Rokugani revolutionaries, and by revolutionaries, I generally mean traitors. The goal of these revolutionaries has generally been to seize either religious or political power within Rokugan. Since the reference is obscure, it has mostly been monks that use it as their banner, but not always.

(...just to be super clear, was that said in character, with everyone present? I don’t see diacritic/speech marks to indicate dialogue, and there was no narrative, so, unsure, and others might be too.)

"Joy."
Tai-Wen grimaces as she leans back in the cockpit of her fighter. She casually flicks through the displays and watches the microfabbers extracting whatever volatile elements they can from space dust picked up from the residue of the flare that threatened to strike them down.
"Not only insane aliens, but homegrown cultist. I'm with the organic. As much as I'd love to find the nearest station, take a few days ripping apart my newest toy, and maybe shred a layer of dust from my paint job, the trail isn't getting any warmer. So all that remains is to find that jump point, and either triangulate with one point rather than three, or pray, whichever strikes your fancy. It's a shell game with a crook-hearted greenlander either way."

"The trail doesn't lead to any system that is known to host any known alien life. Unless our resident Tortoise would know of any. I believe their travel is motivated by a tactical decision. If their impetus was to simply attack the Empire, they could assault the gathered forces of the Crab, out searching for the forces of Jigoku. They could also continue, and swing around the border of the Empire. In this case, they could elect to attack almost anywhere in the Empire, though it is likely they would attack Mantis space in the coreward side of the Empire. This second option has an element of risk, however. This route would have them crossing through a large series of nebula, and would stretch thin any attacking force they had. And it can confidently be inferred that this Dark Lotus has, or will soon have, some sort of combative force, as such a station is not meant to fight alone..." Enshiro sits, waiting to hear what the others have to say.

"I think there is value in following the trail because while the system is not known to host alien life, it nonetheless may now be playing host to the missing station. Further, its solitude makes it an excellent place to hide something large."

"And," Ariel chimes in thoughtful, "We know that whatever force is in control of the station also has knowledge of the Empire. The mere fact that we do not know of any life there could be reason enough to suspect those stars."

((Sorry, was traveling.)) "Following the trail is acceptable." Naosuko adds, looking up from her beaten tablet briefly. "This information will be shared with your clans soon enough, but it is important that you know it as well." A small packet of information is sent to each of the ships, it reads as follows. "I believe that we are dealing with an individual Sassathif rather than their entire race. It may also be that the Zenijin were deceived, and that this is a Rokugani only threat. In either case, showing up in their space with an armed Cruiser would only lead to a confrontation as they would want to test themselves against the Spider." She studies the course that the group has theorized. "This should remain outside of their territory, as for other inhabitants..." Is this anyone's space? Lore: Gaijin/Intelligence: 7d10o10k3 40

The planned attack path that Daigotsu Enshiro sees as likely is clear of any claims by alien races, but given the size of it, it wouldn't be hard to set up a temporary station. Given the Crab presence searching for the Jigoku aliens, as well as that of the other Clans in lesser numbers in this region of space, it couldn't be around a star.
But space is big....and a station this size could likely stay some distance from a star for days at a time.
The Water kami were however the kami that moved ships through the great void of space however, and were likewise the kami of perception. If they were lucky and gave it heading and something to precieve to keep an eye out for, the kami COULD drop them on top of the Space Station, or somewhere else useful....but it was a gamble.
((OOC: This message is in part for all of you, as you seem to have forgotten you have a direction....not a distance. I can promise you if you follow this route you will find more useful information, but you will have to put yourselves in the hand's of the kami, and I make no promises about how far you will travel, how safe you will be when you end your trip or where you will even come out.))

"This is border space, so it should be empty of any territorial issues." Naosuko reaches over the camera, adjusting a control or two. "We might want to travel in as few groups as possible so as not to be separated."
"The Kami can be fickle things, so if we could manage traveling in a single prayer that'd work out great. Then we'd all be ready for wherever that takes us."
