No biggie, we can deal with dust-crazed Unicorn men whenever you're ready.

There is a moment, when you sit down and ask, "What exactly are you doing."
This past week has been that moment for me.
I wish I could entirely blame it on one factor, "I have full time now," "I work 10 hour shifts," "My mind is not in the right place for play by post now," "I am not focused enough," "This game got to big for me."
Any number of those could be a reason, and they probably all play a role.
HOWEVER the fact remains, that I look at whats happening and see many past GMs I have dealt with on Play by Post games.
They start a game....they post, and to begin with they post regularly and frequently. But then they slowly fade away, before vanishing without explanation or any trace. They leave you mid plot, with no satisfaction.
And I don't want to do that to you all. You have given me great joy and I have loved watching all the characters interact.
However I have to admit, its significantly harder, and a larger commitment to GM on a forum, vs face to face. Much harder then I thought it would be.
So I have come to the conclusion that I cannot continue the game. It wouldn't be fair on our Nezumi (who agreed to help me, and while studying for his degree, slowly took up more and more of the slack,) or you as players.
HOWEVER, given that I am doing this this way, rather then fading away entirely, I can answer some questions about where the plot was going, should you be interested.
I am very sorry, and I hope you will forgive me for getting your hopes up of the game starting again, only for it to stumble away once more.
Thank you. You have all been amazing players and INCREDIBLY patient with me.

So, I'll start this by admitting to my group that Naosuko is absolutely everything stereotypical about Tortoise. She has smuggled, stolen, lied and cheated to/on her group for what she views as the good of the Empire. She has also been in constant contact with her clan about just about everything that has gone on and had essentially a kill switch arrangement in place in that if they lost contact, the Tortoise would assume the worst and warn the Emperor of what occurred and get the Empire ready for a conflict. What was important to her was that A. The Empire be warned if something went wrong. and B. That the Tortoise be the ones to perform that duty. Driven (Prove Tortoise's Worth) will do that sort of thing to a girl. As for my question (?), so I theorize that the Sassathif as a race are not involved in the overall plot against the Empire. Individuals, perhaps driven by their connection to Toshigoku. The Hanajin (whoops, didn't I mention them?) just had their metals/casing stolen and used for the monitoring satellites as it hides well from sensors. Perhaps the Hanajin were conquered in the intervening years since the Tortoise met them, but Naosuko wouldn't have been able to confirm that yet. Oh yeah, I'm supposed to ask a question. Was the station disappearing an inside job or did the Sassathif/Lotus use more Hanajin tech to sneak up on them?

Sorry to hear that Vince, the game has been great and you have been a great GM. It’s a shame to break it up, but do what you need to do.
Was our plot heading towards the Day of Thunder? With the new rift opening and stuff? Was there a chance our groups could meet up at all?
On a side note, I don’t really want to break up this great group of players. If anyone wishes to get another PbP started on here I can work with you completely in terms of forum. Unfortunately, I can’t run one as I’m aleady running too many games.

I...definitely do not have the time to run something, or to take up the reins fully on Emerald's behalf, sorry fam. Full-time work at an elite school, coupled with studying a Master degree and handling a long distance relationship (...and the fact I need to move within the next month) means I can MAYBE play in a game, but definitely can't even vaguely GM in a reasonable capacity without RL capsizing.
We were indeed heading to a Day of Thunder. The current Emperor is soooo far removed from the divine blood Iweko I that he's basically lost Heaven's Mandate, and simply riding on the coattails of the stability created by his forebears.
I would like to think both parties were going to meet up fairly soon, although Emerald and I hadn't quite discussed that.

Didn’t expect you to Phe, was kind of hoping someone else could help keep the gang together.
I am going to miss Tetsuko, even though she was at times she frustrating to play by her sheer bull-headedness.

I... kinda figured that was the case. Sigh.
I won't say I'm not disappointed, but it's in the fact that the game won't continue, not that you are unable to run it. Believe me, I've been there. Running a forum game is more work than anyone can predict, and I will by no means hold it against you.
I'm going to miss this nutty adventure. And I'm in the entirely wrong time zone/frame of mind to be taking up a game right now, so count me out of GMing unfortunately.
That said, it might be fun to do some character AMAs. The Wake Angels' time in the Void may have been short, but I enjoyed it immensely. And there are yet many conflicts that they had saved up to start, heh.

I am sorry to see the game end. It was a lot of fun and I loved how no one really had a “cookie cutter” character. But mental health should always come first. Thanks for the memories.
I am already running a live D&D and I can already tell that I can’t tell a proper story in this setting. It’s just not my wheel house.
I am more then happy to do an AMA though. I’ll stsrt.
I’ve thought from the beginning that Shinwa was some kind of Android prince. What was he?

Hey, it was fun while it lasted! It certainly lasted longer than most pbp games I've played. It would be nice to keep this cool little community together.
Would have been a really interesting dynamic, seeing the two groups meet up/ combine.

I'll tell what I know on Monday. Though I'm sad that, once told, I'll never be able to use the concept again.
