"Oooooh, but of course, yes, let's broadcast to the entire Empire something so blasphemous it's bound to start a war," comes the sarcastic reply. "And if the air is confusing, then what is the point of holding a bloody meeting here in the first bloody place? Because it would not make sense if only one here becomes dazed."
Investigation: 15
"While you are correct, Shinjo-san, that trying to find an eloquent way of making our case, I would take in Togashi-dono in this discussion, as it is his case first and foremost. For Heavens' sake, anything other than some crummy blockbuster. I tell you, it will end in a bigger bloodshed than what I am potentially causing here."
She looks to Yozhiko. "Make no mistake: My clan's creed is to prevent a waste of the Empire's first and greatest of ressources: Its people. Given the choice, the less violent outcome must be chosen. Do not presume you know my clan better than I do myself. If you did your research, you might find that you would not misspeak like so. Nor would you be under the misconception that the entire planet is tainted rather than the small square of it that caused the Sparrow such pain. While that part is likely more palatable to our unworthy hearts than yours."
"And yes, the Sparrow themselves are somewhat dependant on outside clans yes, but while you may be succesful with arguing to the Suzume that yes, it might be a good idea to make a movie to show their 'hardships', there is the very real risk of them being insulted by:"
She pauses, raising her hand and extending fingers as she counts out.
"1) You assuming they need help without them petitioning for it. Trust me, if help needs to go to the Guardians of Hantei's Garden, the Emperor will likely make sure the clans comply.
1 and 1) You assuming they are not happy about their hardships. Assuming they want pity and charity. They might very well see it like that."
She pauses. "And thirdly, even if you were to evade the minefields I have just mentioned as well as the ones I didn't, that argument would only satisfy getting onto their station, not the planet. Why would we need to go to the planet to show how the Sparrow needs help when they rarely if ever go there?"
"And fourthly, we make a very poor movie crew with at best 9 samurai, likely fewer. It will only take him wanting to see a script, and trust me, if all you have is some silly draft when we get there later today, that will not cut it. Ikoma-san's writers for her videos don't film a twitch of her eyelashes without a finished project. Now, getting your husband to do some documentary might just work; I gather he has the clout to do it, though it would need to be on a far higher level than the children's stuff he's made so far. That would leave out why we need an up and coming musician, as serious documentaries rarely contain upbeat noises, but I will admit that such artistic vision is beyond me and is better left with Ikoma-san and the two Asahina-sans."
"I have given my reasons for doubting this. It could work, but the potential failures are many and of too great a magnitude. I would betray my clan were I to let you continue uninhibited with such a plan. Any personal grievances are better left for later."
Sincerity (Honesty): 62 (It's angry and still somewhat rude, but she means it.)
